Oklahoma shuts down fracking water wells after quake rattles Dallas to Dakotas | Dallas Morning News

Many people in the Dallas area felt a 5.6-magnitude earthquake that occurred just after 7 a.m. Saturday in northern Oklahoma. The quake that shook the region tied for the strongest in Oklahoma’s history and could be felt as far north as the Dakotas and all the way south to Houston.Aftershocks, some as large as 3.6 on the Richter scale, were recorded around the quake’s epicenter near Pawnee, Okla., the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
