Offshore Technology Conference attendance plummets as oil slump persists – HBJ

The Offshore Technology Conference — one of the biggest events in Houston — drew only 68,000 attendees to NRG Park this year as the oil slump approaches its second anniversary.That’s down 37 percent from just two years ago, when the 2014 event’s 108,300 attendees broke the record set in 1982. It’s also down 28 percent from last year’s 94,700 attendees, which ranks as the sixth-largest attendance in the event’s 48-year history.
