Utica shale to produce almost 1.5 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas in October

The Utica shale is expected to produce almost 1.5 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas next month.Production estimates for September are 1.39 billion cubic feet per day, according to the latest monthly report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. In October, production should nudge the Utica shale, anchored in Ohio, to almost 1.5 billion cubic feet per day.The EIA listed the Utica with other major domestic shale plays for the first time last month. That report showed a tenfold increase in gas production since January 2012.The Marcellus shale, predominantly in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, should cross the 16 billion cubic feet per day threshold next month, the EIA says
