Exxon Mobil has started construction on i ts massive, multi-billion dollar project in Baytown to build an ethane cracker that will produce 1.5 million tons of ethylene per year.Contractors working on the project have finally been revealed with Irving-based Exxon’s latest release, and several are large players in the Houston market.San Francisco-based Bechtel Corp., one of the largest private employers in Houston with more than 2,600 employees, will build olefins recovery units at the plant, along with Pennsylvania-based Linde Engineering North America Inc.Houston-based Wood Group Mustang, one of the largest energy engineering firms in the area with more than 3,300 workers, will provide speciality contracting services along with another Houston firm, Dashiell Corp.Other contractors on the project will be…
